"You're over-reacting!"
If someone is no longer able to convince themselves and others that a problem does not exist, the next strategy employed is to marginalize an issue through minimizing it. This means making the problems seem smaller than they really are. This strategy includes admitting there is a small problem but it only happens infrequently, is unlikely to happen again, or purport that the problem just isn’t as bad as people think it is.
This strategy is an attempt to invalidate those with opposing views by trivializing them as unimportant or inconsequential, or by questioning others' experiences or reactions by suggesting they are faulty or untrustworthy.
